Our Services

Whether it is a new asphalt paving project, management of existing asphalt and concrete, or a simple pothole repair, we are proud to be an industry leader in North and South Carolina. We’re skilled in all aspects of pavement solutions, starting from the initial planning phase, through to the site preparation and actual paving work. We also offer a wealth of services for existing sites including asphalt maintenance, milling, sealcoating, repairs/removals, ADA compliance, and many more.

Asphalt Services

B&N Grading is a full service paving company that services all of North and South Carolina. We provide our asphalt services to residential, commercial, and industrial customers – ranging from private driveways to large-scale commercial parking lots.

In addition to new asphalt paving construction, we offer a full range of maintenance and repairs that include asphalt removal and replacement, sealcoating, hot-crack sealing, and patching.

Asphalt is the optimal choice for highways and paved roads due to its excellent waterproofing, flexibility and adhesive properties. It is also the economical choice as it cost less to construct and maintain while being designed to be a durable and long lasting solution. At B&N Grading we use the best materials on the market to exceed expectations on all paving projects including highways, roads, driveways and parking lots.

Asphalt milling usually occurs prior to installing a new asphalt layer or overlay. The milling process involves a milling machine breaking up and removing an entire pavement layer(s) ranging from just the surface to milling down to the base. This restores pavement to an even profile and removes all surface imperfections making it ready for asphalt repaving. Our asphalt milling equipment allows our crew to remove a layer of asphalt to a certain depth – if the damage is contained to just the surface layer then we can remove just the layer to minimize interruption.

Sealcoating is an integral element of pavement management as regular sealcoating can add years to your asphalt lifespan. Asphalt sealcoating is the method of applying a thin asphalt surface treatment to serve as a protective barrier extending its life and shielding against deteriorating effects.

Some of the things the application of a sealcoat can protect from include: salt, water, UV rays, oil, gas, etc. All of these elements lead to asphalt breakdown, discoloration, cracks, voids and pot holes that can be resisted with a properly applied sealcoat. Aside from being cost effective, here are 4 other reasons why you should consider adding sealcoat to your pavement:

  1. Gives your pavement “like new” appearance again
  2. Slows deterioration of pavement
  3. Easier to clean and maintain
  4. Increases surface friction that makes it safer for driver

Adding Striping is the finishing touch to a paving job and at B&N Grading we use certified paints and can stripe any ADA upgrades or stencils that you may need. Over time parking lot line painting is exposed to water, heavy vehicle traffic and everyday wear and tear causing the paint to fade so it’s important to keep up with the markings to maintain a pleasant and safe environment for customers.

Our asphalt repair services includes asphalt pavement patching, asphalt crack filling, and pothole filling/repair.

Concrete Services

Concrete is the material of choice for most dumpster pads, loading docks, drive-thrus, ADA Ramps, and walkways because the material has a greater capacity to bear loads as well as providing a smooth, rigid edge. At B&N Grading we offer complete concrete services from concrete cracksealing, construction and paving, to repair of existing surfaces and structures such as drive lanes, curbs, sidewalks, walls and ramps, dumpster pads, and bumper blocks

Whether it is a professional commercial sidewalk, pedestrian walkway, or bicycle path, we take pride in installing high quality, long lasting, and aesthetically pleasing concrete surfaces. Our concrete walkways are typically 4” thick concrete and broom finished to be slip resistant. We also do bigger concrete slabs for generators, loading docks, dumpster pads, etc.

In addition to new sidewalk/slab construction, we do repairs as cracked or damaged concrete can be a hazard to pedestrians.

Curbs collect water from crowned pavements and convey it to points of collection, thus reducing the amount of water that gets under the pavement. They also outline the edges of pavements and provide easily definable borders between traveled and untraveled surfaces. Curbs can also strengthen pavement due to the added thickness given to edges of concrete pavements which reduces deflections induced by traffic loads, and therefore extends pavement life.

All of our staff stay educated in the laws and requirements made by the American Disabilities Act. From having an adequate number of accessible spaces, properly designed ramps, and clearly visible signs and marking, we’ll help ensure you are providing safe and easy access to your customers.

B&N Grading has all of the equipment to not only form and pour concrete but to saw and remove as well. Weather, traffic, vehicle use, and many other factors undermine the concrete surface causing cracks and holes. If the damage or erosion is too great for concrete repairs than it will likely need to be removed.

Utilities

B&N Grading has installed countless miles of utility services including storm water pipe, drainage and sewer installations and modifications. These installations are typically done on city sponsored projects that are designed and installed to last several decades.

Storm basins (or catch basins) are primarily used to collect pavement runoff and act as a junction for a storm drain system.

Installation of fire lines, domestic water lines and irrigation taps.

Installation, rerouting and decommission of sewer lines.

Site Development

From land clearing to grading, erosion control to utility installation, we’re equipped to develop your site quickly and with superior quality.

Our expert team identifies possible erosion concerns on land and works to develop solutions for prevention via grading and runoff diversion. We are capable of providing a full range of siltation and erosion control equipment and measures, depending upon the specific provisions within each unique site plan.

Before land can be prepped the site must be cleared of any existing foliage or debris. We’re adept at land clearing and will ensure your site is prepped to the fullest for future stages of development.

The most visible (and often most critical) step in the development process is site grading. We have the capability, experience, and personnel required for grading and excavation projects of all sizes. Using various heavy machinery, we efficiently complete all grading and leveling, so that your land and site is prepared for your next project.
